Only 119 km from Nairobi via Murang'a (previously known as Fort Hall) the drive is nearly all tarmac apart from the last 20km which winds pleasantly through the intensively cultivated green ridges and valleys of Kikuyu land.
The mythical site of the home of Mumbi and Gikuyu, the first parents of the Agikuyu, can be seen in the far distance on the left as you continue on to Mukurweini township from where the road to the Park is sign posted.
Via Karatina
From Karatina towards Nyeri, turn off after 2km, to the Mukurweini road. Mukurweini is 14km from the turn off. On reaching Mukurweini, follow the earth road to Mihuti (another 3km). From Mihuti the camp is 1km away.
From Nyeri, turn off 5km, at Gatitu to the Mukurweini road (Mukurweini is 19km from this turn off). From Mukurweini, follow the earth road to another 3km). From Mihuti the camp is 1km due south.
